UMANG stands for Unified Mobile Application for New-age Governance

UMANG app is developed by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology(MeitY) and National e-Governance Division (NeGD) to drive Mobile Governance in India.

It was launched in 2017.

Purpose: It provides a single platform for all Indian Citizens to access pan India e-Gov services ranging from Central to Local Government bodies and other citizen centric services.

On the completion of three years of the UMANG app, the international version of the app has been launched.

The UMANG international version is for select countries including US, UK, Canada, Australia, UAE, Netherlands, Singapore, Australia and New Zealand and will help Indian international students, NRIs and Indian tourists abroad to avail government of India services anytime.

Government has Map services in this app, with this, citizens will be able to find government facilities nearest to their location, such as mandis, blood banks etc.
