Aims at addressing the environmental issues faced by the textile units in India
Scheme:

To establish four to six brownfield projects and three to five greenfield projects under the cost of Rs. 500 crore.

To provide government support to develop a common infrastructure that will speed up the private sector investments in the major processing clusters.

To make the textiles industry globally competitive by setting up new processing parks and adopting to processing standards and technology which are environmentally friendly.

To support the up-gradation of existing processing clusters/centres specifically in the field of water and wastewater management.

To promote works related to research and development in the textiles-processing sector.

IPDS focuses majorly on the following three areas:

Wastewater management

Adequate and timely supply of water

Safe treatment of effluents before disposal
