The U.K.’s economic relations with India are very strong. India invests more in the U.K. than the rest of the European Union combined.
UK invested USD 22.2 billion in India during the five-year period, representing 9 per cent of all foreign direct investment (FDI) in the country. Overall, however, the UK is the third largest foreign investor in India after Singapore and Mauritius.
British companies currently employ 6.91 lakh people in India, working out to 5.5 per cent of total organised private sector jobs.
